Probably the best book ever written on the lap band trials and tribulations. I had forgotten so many small details and this book helped me remember and answer questions that I have had over the last 9 years. I have a very finicky band being the smaller one not offered any longer. I also have developed a very small hiatal hernia right above where the band itself tightens. Due to this I have to be careful. I just began to refill the band after being sick for about 1 year. I was at 2.5 and had it adjusted to 2.4.... very small adjustment but due to reflux and coughing it needed to be done. The writer goes into every detail that in fact does usually happen and explains what we should be concerned about, what to change and when to seek medical attention.. Will keep this book by my bedside and read often..Product details

This is a great book for anyone thinking about AGB surgery. It has a lot of valuable information from the point of view of someone who has gone through it. She lets you know what to expect, both the good and the challenging parts of changing your lifestyle. It also has information for dealing with the band after the surgery.

I thought I had all the info I needed (esp after reading Dr. Sewell's book) but this was an excellent resource when I had a bad reaction to an overfill.
The book is very easy to read and well organized. I highly recommend it to anyone considering lap band surgery or who's recently gone through the procedure.
Jane McMillan is very comforting and informative. I brought this book to my doctor to be sure it it was one that he was familiar with. He thinks it is very good , and probably "better because a doctor didn't write it!"
I purchased this book almost over a year and a half ago. I've enjoyed reading this book, I have no complaints. But, what I don't understand is why is it that this book is so expensive????? There is no absolute reason as to why this price is jacked up at over $100.00. Maybe there is a type-o, well... I sure hope so anyhow.

Note This book is great other than the price. It is VERY informative, you want be disappointed (ONLY WITH THE 125.00 + price tag!)

This book is really for the person who is just in the beginning phase of investigating the lap band. There's good information in here, but I was hoping for a book more for the person who has already HAD the surgery. (recipes, advice etc)
