I'm quickly become a big fan of short stories lately since it's been so difficult for me to find time for a full length novel. I absolutely loved this collection of eight short stories, it was perfect for me to pick up for a quick read. I really enjoyed each of the stories, but The Eighth Wonder was definitely my favorite and I can see why it was focused in on for the title of this book. The style of these stories were very though provoking and I couldn't recommend this collection enough!
I love short stories yet find it a chore sometimes to find a good collection of well-written and engaging tales that appeal to me. I feel like I hit the jackpot with author Chris Freeman's latest, called "The Eighth Wonder and Other Stories". This is a wonderful collection of varied stories that are eclectic, witty and incredibly well-written. My absolute favorite was "The Last Ascension of Lexi Catter", about a young girl who is sick and invades the local exclusive dog club's obedience competition with her well-trained mutt. I also really enjoyed the original story of Yuri's travels in "Speed". All great stories and would definitely recommend.
